Enjoy the changing seasons at The Rowfant Trail RH Enjoy the changing seasons at The Rowfant Trail RH10 4NQ this bank holiday weekend 🌳
🦌 Our new trail loop, the ‘Deer Track’ opens this weekend, giving you a chance to get up close with nature, deep in the heart of the Rowfant woodland.

🌿 See spring time flora bursting into life and take a walk through this previously unseen corner of the ghyll. Arrow markers have been placed along the track to help you navigate your way through.

🥾 We have left this area as natural as possible which does mean that the ground is uneven and steep in places, following deer tracks rather than a made pathway, so please do wear appropriate footwear. Please note, the extended loop is not pushchair or wheelchair accessible.

We’re looking forward to sharing this extra slice of the Rowfant Trail with you bank holiday from 9.30am.

One of our favourite bluebell hang outs is in Outw One of our favourite bluebell hang outs is in Outwood at Hornecourt Wood, managed by the @southeastnt photos just don't capture these glorious flowers, so go and see for yourself, before they're gone as they're almost past their best.

Park in the National Trust car park near the old windmill and you can walk in Harewoods past the cricket pitch, or follow Gayhouse Lane past the windmill on the right signposted to Hornecourt. This will take you through the yellow oilseed rape field and into the bluebell wood for a signposted circular walk.

There aren't any facilities here, but parking is free. Maybe you can head to a local pub for refreshments. I wouldn't recommend a buggy up and down here, but a sling/carrier if possible for non-walkers.

Have you heard of the @merlin.bird.id app? I love Have you heard of the @merlin.bird.id app?
I love having this app to hand when I'm out walking to see what's out and about in the trees and bushes. The birds come up in a list and flash up again as they sing. Today was a good day! 🐦

You can get the low down on on what you can hear, record and save the sounds to go back to, as well as adding the birds to you own ID list.

It's free to download and something that I bet will interest you as well as the children.

Have you ever got up for the dawn chorus? 🎶
